Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Allison Hiers, DVM
Allison G. Hiers grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, but Gainesville has been her home since 1996. She received her BS and Master's degrees from the University of Florida Department of Animal Science, where she also met her future husband, Dr. Eric Hiers. Following graduation from the UF Veterinary School in 2006, she worked as a mixed animal practitioner in Belleview, Florida while studying to receive her Veterinary Acupuncturist Certification at the Chi Institute.
In 2007, she worked at Trenton Animal Hospital for a short while before taking maternity leave to have her second child. Dr. Hiers spent the next couple of years working part-time at Newberry Animal Hospital and West End Animal Hospital, while running her own veterinary acupuncture mobile business for small animals and horses. In May of 2010, she became co-owner of Trenton Animal Hospital with her husband.
Dr. Hiers' professional interests include acupuncture for small and large animals, surgery, and internal medicine. When she is not at work at the clinic, she is hard at work at her more important job: mother of three amazing children, Colton, Taylor, and Ashton. Dr. Hiers' personal interests include traveling, hiking (really doing anything active outside), and attending any Gator sports events - GO GATORS!
Dr. Brittany Bisinotto, DVM
Dr. Brittany Bisinotto, also a true Floridian, was born in Tampa and raised in Palm Coast. Unlike many of her peers, she didn’t always want to be a veterinarian. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in biomedical engineering. During her senior year, she worked for the late Ron Wilson, former state veterinarian of Tennessee, and volunteered at the Nashville Zoo. After visiting South Africa on a month-long wildlife veterinary excursion, she was hooked and knew that a career in veterinary medicine was meant to be. She earned her master’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Florida while also working full time as a veterinary technician. In 2014, she graduated from Ross University’s School of Veterinary Medicine after completing her clinical year at the University of Florida.
